“Invisibility, let me explain, gives one a slightly different sense of time, you’re never quite on the beat. Sometimes you’re ahead and sometimes behind. Instead of the swift and imperceptible flowing of time, you are aware of its nodes, those points where time stands still or from which it leaps ahead. And you slip into the breaks and look around.”
— Invisible Man, Ralph Ellison
This was a recording taken in mid-June of 2011. While recording parts of Washington Park, I was able to walk through a few picnics. This is what I heard. I thought this post would be appropriate for the MLK holiday weekend.
A recording taken 'round midnight January 1, 2012 from my window. I find this recording similar to the July 4 recording from 2009. I feel that this has a similar existential feel to as my neighbors can be heard ringing in the New Year with their fire-arms.
